Biography

Born in Istanbul in 1990, Naz is the only child of ex-pro volleyball player parents. She started sports with athletics and basketball and decided to play volleyball at the age 9 after her mother took her to watch the Eczacıbası Team practice live.

Naz played volleyball in her school team as well as the Eczacıbası youth and junior teams in the 2002-2003 season. 2003-2004 was the first season Naz represented her country at national level. She represented her country in the Balkan Championships with the Turkish National Youth Team and was awarded the title of ‘Best Setter’ for the event. Naz made it to the Eczacıbası Senior team in 2004-2005 season and participated in Top Teams Cup Final Four. The first season Naz became a full time member of Eczacıbası Senior Team was in 2005-2006. It wasn’t long before Naz had earned herself a place as the first setter of Eczacıbası in the same season. She helped her team win the National League championships for the following three years. In the 2008-2009 season, Naz played Turkish Cup final, National League Play-Off series final and the European Champions League Final-Four. The 2005-2006 season was a successful one which left Naz with four championships under her belt: Eczacıbası Youth, Junior and A Team, Yuzyıl Isıl Private High School.

Naz transferred to Fenerbahce Universal in the 2009-2010 season and continued her successful career. Naz ended her first two years in her new team with a world championship, two Turkish National League Championships, two Super Cup championships and one Turkish Cup championship. In addition to these team accomplishments, Naz also was chosen the ‘Best Setter’ in both of these years. She also helped her team to a silver medal in the 2009-2012 season and a bronze medal in the 2010-2011 season in the Champions League.

Naz led Fenerbahce to win the 2011-2012 Champions League Championship and was awarded the title of ‘Best Setter’ once more.  That same season Naz represented Turkey in the national team and added many more to her list of “career  firsts” : ‘Section Europe’ Olympics Qualification 1st place, World Grand Prix 3rd place and Italia Edison Cup 1st place.

Naz Aydemir has been representing Turkey at Youth, Junior and National team level since 2003. She was the captain of the team that finished 2nd in the World Youth Cup Championships in 2007 and 3rd in the European Junior Championships. Naz was also elected the ‘Most Valuable Player’ of the European Championship.

Naz continued her success in professional sports in her education as well. She graduated from her high school (Yıldızlar Koleji) in the top 3 in 2007. She then went on to Bilgi University to study marketing and graduated in 2011.
